Does LIFE TO THE FULL require us to spend more time thinking about our family and community then thinking about our job? Do we have to spend less time at our job to live out LIFE TO THE FULL? What role does our job play in living out LIFE TO THE FULL?

While I think that the amount of time that God wants you to spend at work is hard to determine, it seems as if a lot of people spend an unbalanced time at work. I do have research to prove though that the more time you spend at work, the less time you have for football!

Now, if we didn't have jobs, how could we buy your book? If we didn't buy your book, you couldn't go to Ethiopia. Maybe God wants us all to work extra hours so you can go to Ethiopia!? Although, I'll be honest, having the past month off has really made me want to quit my job. Is my boss on here?

That first chapter bugged me!
I think God wants us to prioritize; Him, family job, etc., but I don't think our time at work is unimportant compared to my time after work. My day job is not marking out time until I am able to get to the real ministry in my life. God has placed me here to be His light, and I don't just say that because I work in social service. I commend you for obeying God's direction to leave your teaching job in Aurora, but your situation is extremely unique. My ultimate passion will be when Craig and I start doing foster care, but I have to guard my heart that I don't dwell on that, losing the chance to make the most of now. For a majority of us our day jobs take up a majority of the day. So, if I don't make the most of the opportunities given to me to live for His glory during that time, I'm wasting a good portion of my life.
I don't have a job.... but quitting school doesn't sound so bad!
I can definitely understand this part of the reason I decided to quit my job and stay home with my kids is because I will have some extra time to help others and hopefully one day make a difference in someone's life.
